Using 3D Scanners

Want to try a 3D scanner? In this session, you will have the opportunity to trial different Trimble 3D scanners. Everyone will get a chance to use a scanner by dividing the scanners up amongst small groups. We will be demonstrating the Trimble scanners and will discuss their features.

Modeling from Scan Data

Compiling the vast amount of data collected from 3D scanning into a comprehensive 3D model can be a challenging task. This class provides a quick overview of registering point clouds in Realworks and demonstrates the workflow for modeling point clouds in SketchUp using the plugin Undet. Software and temporary licenses for the class will be available at the Trimble and Undet booths. Participants will need a laptop running Windows (either a Windows laptop or a Mac running bootcamp). Everyone will need to install and activate the software prior to the class.
